First of all, I couldn’t find what “Gen” My Outback is. In reading the various posts, I think it’s a 5. Second, I didn’t find a forum specifically for power steering issues. So I chose this subforum. So shoot me if I’m wrong on either or both counts!
Now for my specific power steering issue.
I also have a 2014 Outback (wife’s car) and a 2018 Crosstrek (mine is all mine). I understand the ’14 power steering is hydraulic and the Crosstrek is electric. The Outback’s steering is quite stiff compared to the Crosstrek. Is this normal? It has been like this for quite some time. Either the lightness of the Crosstrek has spoiled me or there is a problem with the Outback. But after getting used to the Crosstrek, the Outback handles like a truck.
