2009 2.5L
I replaced the battery about a week before I took my car in for the biannual state mandated emissions test. The car did the usual work a little rough for two days after replacing the battery before resetting the ECU. Now it seems to be working fine, but it’s logged “not ready” (not a failure, just missing information) in the Catalyst and Evap categories in testing. I don’t know exactly what they mean, but the guy at the test facility said it was higher speed connected data. He suggested keeping the gas at least half full and using it on the freeway over 60 for at least 20 minutes. I called my local mechanic and he said basically the same thing. Now it hasn’t passed after two more tries with a half hour freeway drive, turning it off, then adding another half hour before each test.

I put about 275 miles on the car after the battery change and that was 2-1/2 weeks ago.
This test last time, the attendant said, drive it over 50, then let off the gas and, without breaking down, let it slow down to under 30, turn it off, then repeat.
Anyone run into this problem and have a suggestion or have an idea how long it takes for the engine to gather the necessary data?
