Hi, I recently purchased a 2011 outback (base non turbo) with ~72k miles on it and have noticed it stuttering after long drives. Recently got it on the grapevine and the “At Oil Temp” light came on and then went away as I started to go downhill towards Bakersfield. As soon as I hit my first red light, the engine stalled. Other than that, the car was running smoothly. As I turned toward Los Angeles, the light came on and went away again. Then when I started to stop, I felt it stall again, but I managed to avoid a complete stop and switched to manual mode. Shifting manually down into first, I was able to come to a complete stop without stalling. I did notice a loss of power for a while, but it smoothed out once I got into Los Angeles. I should point out that the previous owner installed a traction brake assist. I never have any problems on my regular ride and it has run great other than that. I’m planning on taking it to the mechanic and I suspect it has to do with the cvt, but if anyone can offer some advice on what the problem might be I’d greatly appreciate it!
