My daughter’s 2009 Outback has an ER SS code on the odometer since she bought it earlier this year. The code is activated whenever the car is running and is never turned off. Never had an ABS or CEL light come on at this time. I connected an OBD-2 scanner, but it found no error codes. Every post I’ve seen describes this code always appearing along with the ABS light, never just the ER SS code by itself. If it is a speed sensor on one of the wheels, how do I determine which one? Since it doesn’t seem to be affecting anything else that I can see, can I just clean up the code, and if so, how?
