Gen 3 – 07 Outback – Coolant Leaking, (leaving residue in engine??)

Hello all,
My 07 2.5L 4cyl Auto Subaru Outback with 220000 kms (136000 Miles) needs attention. I’m in Australia if that’s useful.

It already leaks oil, and the mechanic says it’s a faulty head gasket; he suggests I monitor the oil level every 2000 km. It’s a minor leak, and the repair cost isn’t worth it.

Here is my issue: today I parked my car and when I returned 2 hours later, I saw a puddle. I thought it was strange as I, up until then, only knew of a minor oil leak. I put a tissue in the puddle; it’s green. Great.

I drove home to inspect the engine. Coolant is below the low level, and there is a greenish residue on the right side of the engine covering the radiator, battery and all areas in between. I couldn’t find where the source was. Radiator has coolant on the surface, as seen in the picture.

I haven’t noticed any overheating or white smoke from the exhaust pipe.

I appreciate any thoughts on what it may be. I love this car. Thank you in advance.
