Yesterday, in three legs of traveling a few miles around town, my ’99 OB/MT started lurching in first and second gear before settling down around 20-25 mph. Was ok on the second leg. Then on the third it was lurching again, shaking at idle and the check engine light started flashing. Ideas what might be going on? It’s on its second engine (2009) and it’s been burning oil for a few years, otherwise going well.
There’s only one indie Subaru shop left in town (Bozeman, MT), i.e., within biking distance, and they’ve scheduled me two weeks out. All of my necessary driving is like yesterday, 3-6 miles round trip, three or four days a week. Thanks,
