First time Subaru owner, almost *Update

After a Hyundai Sonata accident and USAA Insurance totaled, we have our eyes on our next family car. We decided, at least 95% decided, on an uphill tour. We are in El Paso, TX and there is only one dealer near us, with the closest one being a little over 4 hours away in Albuquerque, NM.

The forum was very influential in our choice of Ascension. Today after many messages left I was able to confirm that Subaru of El Paso honors the VIP Program but today I also found out that the ASPCA Founder’s donation has a waiting period of 30 days from donation before the VIP Program certificate is issued and that change took effect on July 1, 2023.

This will be the first car purchased at a price above $30,000 and this fact is a big decision for us. We have been saving for our next car but are buying 3 years ahead of schedule due to total loss. When we combine our car purchase savings account and the payment from USAA, we won’t need to finance, which is great since we haven’t made a car payment in 3 years.

I want to thank all the forum members who have posted their experiences with their Asentes.
Thank you:thumbsup::munching:

I bought my first Subaru today and it’s a 2023 Ascent Touring. Thanks to everyone who read this introductory post and especially “packout”, “Jim_in_PA”, “Landshark” and Steve70″ for responding to my post and follow up questions.

Time at the dealer 1 hour and 15 minutes.
10 minutes in the comfort of my own time in my home office filling out the finance application.
3 hours looking for the price.
3 hours VIP Program process (including search).
About 3 weeks of choosing the right car and then finally getting the right Subaru.
