Subaru issued a recall for this problem which seems to have fixed the problem for us. Several months have passed without a recurrence.
Do you have a return number? I am unable to find any recalls regarding this and the Ascent (can you think of another Subaru model?). These are the memories for Ascension. The second one that lasted affected three days worth of builds, and virtually no customer cars. The latter did not affect any customer cars. The other three are unrelated to the parking brake.
