I’m beginning to shop for a CPO or other late-model used Outback, and it looks like the CPO selection near where I live now in Virginia is pretty slim, as well as being higher-priced than nearer DC. Selection is discouraging enough that I might jump straight to new if limited to here.
I’ve bought new from Frederick Subaru in Maryland, and many years ago from Fitzgerald, with reasonable results. But Northern Virginia dealers are a blank slate to me. The advantage of Maryland is that I have a couple of known mechanics to do pre-purchase inspection. OTOH, rust begins to become a factor northwest of DC.
Do you have good experiences, horror stories, et cetera?
