When I took it to the dealer, the service advisor was making it look like he was going to do me a favor and make the manufacturer pay for it. As I was getting vocal about my frustration another senior service advisor stopped by to look at it. When asked if this was a known issue, he quietly admitted it is due to a faulty batch from one of Subaru’s vendor and it will be replaced at no cost to me.
I have a 2020 Subaru Ascent with less than 15K miles when I noticed a crack across the moonroof glass. There was no noticeable point of impact and the car has been sitting in the car garage for several months due to the covid-19 pandemic lockdown.
Upon close examination, I could feel the crack from inside the cabin when I ran my fingernail across the crack. I was afraid of the glass falling in on me due to the movement of the vehicle.
