Could a power cord kill my battery?

I had the pleasure of a dead battery after work this morning, leaving me stranded for a good long while, and not sure what caused it. Could just be that the battery is dying and needing to be replaced, but the car has started fine all day today without further problem. But I was wondering, the only thing I did differently last night was I’d plugged a super fast charging cord into the USB to charge my phone, and then left the cord plugged in overnight. With our old cord we always left it plugged in, so I wouldn’t think it could drain the battery, but I don’t know if a higher grade, fast charging cord is possibly able to cause battery drain like that? Any thoughts? Or am I just crazy and need to go out and buy a new battery ASAP.
On a side note, after getting a jump start, the car was making an incessant beeping, coming from the back of the car, for at least 5 minutes or so as I drove home, but no warnings or messages appeared on the dash, so have no idea what the heck it was beeping about. When I got home I opened the rear gate just to see if there was anything amiss, and I found a small hair bow/clip thingy that looked like it had been caught between the hatch door. Not sure if that was in any way related to either the beeping or the battery, but was there so thought I’d mention it anyway.
Since I don’t know what’s going on, I’ll be crossing my fingers tonight at work.
