California is coming to me… to run wild with my Outback.

Volkswagen California Camper 6.1 that is. In 2001 while residing in WA I bought a new VW Eurovan Camper Winnebago conversion. Loved it for nearly 17 years, traveled all over US, Canada, and for 6 years in Europe in it. Then sold it back in SC for the price I paid for it new. Missed it since and planned to buy one since 2018. Now was the time.

Taking a delivery in a few days… dealer is rustproofing it and changing tires for all season type plus some other small things to be done. This is one of the last 4Motion drivetrains. Production already have stopped some time ago. Also the last chance for a true VW camper as well. Production ends in a few months. (Next year VW will be rebaging Ford Transits) and maybe offer an electric camper you could recharge by placing a turbine in a stream you are camping near by or something like a wind turbine while you camp on a ridge. Well, you get a point why now is the time to buy it.

To show you the van I am providing a link to an English language video made when VW brought the van to Canada to tease. Mine is all white and with a lighter interior. I am looking forward to it. One thing needs to be said…. the price is crazy… you will only get enough change back from 100k USD to fill the tank two or three times…. (MSRP 96,400 euros) To me it is a better choice than a super car, no discussion. For a fast drives through the Alps by my house I still will have a red Alfa Romeo Stelvio!
