Anyone experience complete engine shut-down while in drive?

In C&D’s recent article on the OBW, they stalled twice while in Drive and crawling through standing water (up to lower bumper): 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Gets a Mud Treatment

I’ve seen several videos of the OBW driving through higher levels of standing water, so I thought the stalling in this case was particularly odd.

No water, snow, or whatever…I was stopped at a stop sign when I had a total engine shut-down (in drive). Dealer couldn’t find any errors, couldn’t replicate. I think it’s electronic, but totally have no confidence in my less than 1-year old new Outback (after owning a 2010 for almost 11 years). Sucks to be me, I guess!
