Has anyone done “all of the above” at the same time? Is doing the rotors, pads, struts, bearings just another day in the office for some – and should I just do it all while I’m in there? 192,000 miles, LOTS of highway, but has also seen a lot of back roads as she has worked for Scout Camp and now the NPS. I’ve never done brakes, but it looks pretty simple – ish. Should the calipers be replaced? There is no leakage.
And get this….Rear rotors were turned at the dealer when we bought it at 102k miles in 2017. I can’t for the life of me find where anyone else has touched the brakes esp. front after we took it over. Could have been done by previous owner prior to 102k. But wow…..Subaru dealer we bought from I’m sure could dig into prior owner, but whatever…
That being said, should I do it all at once, or is there a reason not to. Other than cost. I know I’m looking at $$$, since an ind. Trusted Subaru mechanic quoted me $1100 just for struts/labor.
Parts: KYB quick struts with springs (I don’t/can’t compress), Timken Bearings (half as much as OEM) and OEM rotors and pads? Should I do those little control arm things?
Thanks!
