I know it has been asked and answered several times, but I am really looking for confirmation of changing the rear pads and rotors without taking the EPB into maintenance mode with a scan tool.
I’ve run across a lot of info (including the tech manual with a note alluding to not using the scan tool) that makes comments that this is OK. But then there are other posts that swear against it, or have had issues with warning lights, etc.

I am planning to manually twist in the pistons. Any advice on the process is appreciated (from what I see I really don’t have to do anything with the EPB until I’m done). Also looking for “plus 1s” on did it yourself without scan tool and no issues.
