This week I said goodbye to my 2021 Outback Limited XT and hello to a new 2024 Outback Limited XT.
On the 2021 it came with incandescent bulbs for the mid-car dome light and the one over the cargo area, but I was able to easily pop the covers off and install LED replacements to get significantly more light. On the 2024 these two lights are both pairs of LEDs, as this appears to be standard on all trims now, but to me they seem to be rather dim.
Before I try to pop the cover off the two assemblies, assuming it even comes off (easily?), does anyone know if it’s still replaceable bulbs inside or is it a diode soldered onto a board which would limit my options? I’m not looking to make a bunch of modifications on the vehicle but I would prefer to have a brighter interior…
