I emailed Subaru to ask if I can replace the stem on the ’23 OB with the stem/mount from a ’22 (doubtful) OR if I can buy the whole mount from a ’22 and mount it on the ‘ 23. My case it’s complicated by the fact that my Outback has Homelink and self dimming. The rear view is connected to the side mirrors and dims them via cable. As such an electrical/communications cable runs through or to the side of the mirror stem (making this more complicated) I will update this when I get their response.
By the way, below is what the window assembly looks like on the ’23 OB. It appears to be the same case that BMW uses on many of their cars. Can I find any examples of a mirror using this mount where the stem articulates to both the base and the mirror.
