2021 Ascent Premium : Gasoline smell OUTSIDE the vehicle after driving

Over the past 3-4 weeks, I have noticed a distinct gasoline smell emanating from my Ascendant. I can’t smell it when I’m inside the vehicle unless I roll down the window or open a door or tailgate. The wind is most pronounced along the outside of the driver’s side of the vehicle, especially near the second row door and sometimes the rear hatch. I can’t smell the wind coming from the vents when I drive; I don’t even smell it when I open the hood. I also don’t see any leaks under the vehicle; the oil gauge is normal (at the full mark); and my miles per gallon are normal. So I don’t think the gasoline is leaking, but there must be some kind of valve or something that allows air to escape where it normally shouldn’t. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was the fix?

I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow; however, I have a 3000 mile trip already planned for (and reservations made) and I leave on May 14th. So I have a concern that if they find the source of the problem, they won’t fix it in time. (They tell me they are having trouble getting parts.). Oh, and I’ll be towing a trailer, so I can’t rent a car.

Want to know if anyone else has had the same problem with Ascent Premium 2021? Thank you in advance!
