Wife and I got new phones. Went from iPhone XR and 11 to 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. My work iPhone 13 also won’t connect to carplay.
No issues, ever, with CarPlay on the older phones. New phones won’t connect to the Subaru Ascent. Using the same cable, it won’t even charge or see one another. (Bluetooth connects, but CarPlay won’t do anything)
When you open Carplay on the phone through settings to tell it to forget a car, it just spins and never pulls anything up.
Took the car to Subaru and got the firmware updated, still won’t see the new devices. Have done a factory reset on the cars head unit, still won’t connect. They didn’t have any other suggestions. We have been trying to troubleshoot this for a few days with no luck.
Plugged the pro max into a Jeep Gladiator and CarPlay worked just fine.
Wife’s 11 still works fine on CarPlay, even if we have it forget the car. As soon you connect the cord it asks if you want it to work while locked.
Anyone else dealt with this issue in a Subaru and have a solution? My wife is ready to throw the new phone away and go back to the old one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
