Took car into dealer for the apparently normal “head unit bubbles” on 2018 Navigation radios & dealer said there was a Head Gasket leak. $7750 quote. Couldn’t get in touch with the service advisor because “they’re really busy” but he texted that they found oil in the coolant tank.
Car has 62xxx miles. Over the 60k powertrain by a couple weeks.
Talked to Customer Advocacy & just heard back they’re only offering to cover $3k of $9k bill. I asked if there was something we could do as we love the car & they said no, that’s final offer.
Questions:
1) Can you go higher up to talk to someone else (it seems like our person was semi-new).
2) How hard is an engine swap? Doesn’t seem like paying $6k to fix head gasket makes sense when you can get an engine for less.
3) any other stuff you might have thoughts on.
