My 2017 Outback is currently at 70k miles. It has not been used for 5 months and I had to charge the battery twice during that period as it was completely exhausted.
About 2 weeks after I started driving my OB again I occasionally got a p2404 engine code when starting the engine. I would reset this code with OBD2 and continue driving. After a while, this random p2404 on engine start progressed to both p2404 and p0441 engine codes, which would now come on occasionally either on engine start or while driving.
I replaced the gas cap and have never had a problem with gas filling. Although I reset these codes several times it keeps coming back which when it does it turns on the check engine light and disables the driver assistance systems (Eyesight, RAB, ABS, X-mode) which can be quite unsafe .

If anyone has any experience with this issue, I appreciate your help. Thanks and stay safe
