2016 Outback 2.5i – No sound from turn signals and hazzards

So it happened again. I got about 3 weeks before the sound stopped again. I pulled the instrument cluster out again and just disconnected it and let the cluster sit for about 5 mins. I was curious to see if the cluster sound was in a bad state and disconnecting it and reconnecting it would solve the issue. It didn’t. I pulled the speaker again and measured the impediance; it was coming up about 2 ohms… it should be closer to 8

I then got a AA battery and did the pop test and was able to get the speaker to crackle… I then measured the impedance again and it was 8.9 ohms… Maybe I did not get a good connection when I measured the first time…
I was able to find this actual speaker on the internet and downloaded the spec (it was however not for sale on that site). I was able to find a similar speaker on amazon and ordered it (search for “Heyiarbeit DIY Magnetic Speaker 8 Ohm 1.5W 30mm Oval Shape”) and will replace it the next time it cuts out (in about 3 weeks).

So I feel that this is definitely a speaker issue and not a complicated internal instrument cluster issue…

After putting everything back together, the speaker did work again….
