2014 Outback suddenly shuts off while driving.

2nd Cardoc.

Check your battery cables and connections for loose connections and corrosion.

A loose bolt anywhere along those cables will cause this issue randomly.

Corrosion is less likely, but as long as you’re in there check them out.

I like to clean my cables once in a while with battery terminal cleaner, spray them down with CRC’s terminal protector or dielectric grease, and use a dab of blue locktite on all the connections. They go nowhere unless I command it.

If your problem persists, replace the battery.

I got into this habit after an old SR5 showed me what a loose cable can do when struggling up the Grapevine with a semi truck riding my bumper like a dolphin on an 80 year old.
